It is low enough that i don t even notice it going in a and out of the door. Installation was a breeze and the base is fairly unobtrusive. The nightlock barricade anchored securely to the floor used the strength of the floor. Also have the nightlock for inward swing doors and highly recommend it as well.

Keep in mind the door itself plays a key role in how strong a barricade lock performs. Installation and use are excellent. If you think your door is wider i would suggest measuring it as other reviews said it was to small. A pivoting barricade lock is probably possible but will that pivot point withstand shear and blows.
