Office 365 smtp relay not working.
I have an smtp relay server that is setup and working correctly on a 2008 server.
Log in to your office 365 tenant open the exchange admin center and click mail flow and click connectors.
I set up my printer for microsoft 365 or office 365 smtp relay but it s not sending email or my device was sending email using smtp relay but it stopped working.
I configured openerp with a google account works perfectly the only emailserver not working seems to be office 365 but as a standalone client using smtp not native exchange protocol i guess the issue is not at the microsoft offering.
However when using office 365 you may have to configure an smtp relay on your mail server s end for it work correctly.
A common reason for issues with microsoft 365 or office 365 smtp relay is a blocked ip address.
The new server has a different internal ip external ip and server.
As in this is only my 3rd week on the job so go easy on me.
Our mail system was migrated from a local exchange server to office 365.
Follow the below steps to set this up.
To set up an smtp relay you must first create a connector in office 365 to accept smtp transactions.
This connector will receive smtp relay transactions from the application or device.
A new 2016 server was created at the same site and smtp was setup using the exact same settings as the 2008 server but it is not working.
We have a few devices that need send only email.
Before you attempt to create a connector be sure your account has the proper exchange online permissions.

Microsoft 365 or office 365 smtp relay does not require the use of a licensed microsoft 365 or office 365 mailbox to send emails.
I cannot send outgoing emails with the microsoft office 365 email server.
This can be caused by a number of issues.
Senders are not bound by the 30 messages per minute or 10 000 recipients per day limits.
Use a dedicated relay connector to send emails through the office 365 smtp relay.
